Bathroom Remodeling in Aventura

Condo bathroom remodels in Aventura's towers, organised so the association is satisfied, the neighbors are kept informed and the owner doesn't have to be in town for every step.

How a tower remodel runs

  1. Building documents

We start with your association's renovation rules: application forms, insurance certificate requirements, deposit, work hours and elevator booking.

  2. Survey of the unit

Where the drains and supply risers run, what the slab allows, how the existing tub is set, and the condition of the fan duct.

  3. Selections up front

Tile, fixtures, glass and vanity are chosen before demolition so nothing stalls while you're away.

  4. Work and updates

Protection for hallways and elevators, dust control, and photo updates at the stages that matter: demolition, waterproofing, tile, fixtures.

The condo bathroom remodeling page goes further into shared stacks and building approvals.

Owners who are here part of the year

Many Aventura units are second homes, or belong to owners who spend summers elsewhere. That is often the best time to remodel: the unit is empty and nobody has to live with the noise. It only works if decisions don't depend on someone standing in the bathroom. We confirm dimensions and selections in advance, agree how access and keys are handled with the front desk, and keep you updated remotely until the final walkthrough.

Bathrooms for staying put

For owners planning to stay in the unit long-term, accessibility is often part of the brief even if nobody calls it that. A bathtub you have to step over becomes a problem, so converting it to a low-threshold shower with a bench is a common change. Blocking inside the walls for future grab bars, a comfort-height toilet, a handheld shower on a slide bar and good lighting all make a difference without the room looking clinical. See accessible bathroom remodeling and our tub-to-shower conversion service.

Tower bathrooms also tend to be interior rooms with no window, so light and ventilation carry more of the load. We plan layered lighting (a bright, even source at the mirror plus general ceiling light), and a quiet, continuous-duty or humidity-sensing exhaust fan connected to the building's existing duct path.

Ideas for making this look good are in the guide to accessible bathroom remodeling ideas.

Aventura questions

Can the remodel go ahead while I'm out of town?

Yes, if the selections are made before work starts and the building allows contractor access with your authorization. We agree how keys are handled, send photo updates at each stage and schedule decisions that need you around calls.

Does the association have to approve a bathroom remodel?

Most high-rise associations require some form of notice or application, and many require the contractor's insurance certificate before work begins. Plumbing changes are more likely to need review. Rules differ by building, so we start with your building's documents.

Can a tub be replaced with a curbless shower in a tower?

Sometimes. A curbless shower needs the floor to slope to the drain, and in a concrete tower the room to recess the floor is limited. A low-threshold shower is often the practical alternative. We check the slab and drain location before recommending either.
